I am so thankful today! I am thankful to be here in the world. I have been given life and breath as a gift from God who created me.
I am thankful that I am not alone. I have a loving wife, children and grandchildren who are God’s gift to me. I am a part of a church family full of people who long to know God and want to help others do the same. I have many friends around the world. I am thankful not only for the joy of being loved by them and loving them, but also for the joy of walking together with them with the purpose of making the glory and praise of the Living God known to people in many places.
Most of all, I am thankful to God for his mercy toward me. He has made known his love to me through his Son, Jesus, who carried my sin and rebellion to the cross and suffered my punishment there. Through that supreme sacrifice I have received the gift of eternal life. He has given me his glorious righteousness in place of the filthy rags of my sin. He has made me a member of his family. He has given me his Spirit. I have a place at his table today and I am flooded with thanksgiving!
